Why We’re Here
Caring for someone can be deeply rewarding, but it can also put a strain on your wellbeing, relationships, and day-to-day life. That’s why Derby Carers exists—to make sure local carers have the support, guidance, and community they need.
What We Offer
Our dedicated team at Derby Carers provides a wide range of services to help you thrive in your caring role:
  • One-on-one support: Speak to our friendly helpline team and discover how we can help.
  • Peer connection: Join groups, activities, and events to meet others who understand the challenges of being a carer in Derby.
  • Wellbeing resources: Access tools and services designed to protect your physical and mental health.
  • Benefits & advocacy guidance: Learn about your rights, including the Care Act 2014, Carer’s Leave, and Carer’s Allowance.
  • Signposting: We’ll help you find the right local services and support when you need them most.

Need a Formal Assessment?
If informal support isn’t enough, Derby Carers can assist with a referral to Derby City Council’s adult social care team for a Carer’s Assessment. This structured assessment looks at your physical and emotional needs, your goals, and whether you’re eligible for extra support such as a Personal Budget from
