Activities, groups and events
At Universal Services for Carers in Derby, we understand that unpaid caring can sometimes feel isolating. That’s why our Взаимной поддержки services are designed to foster connection, understanding and resilience through shared experiences. We help carers establish and join peer-led groups, events and activities that provide a safe, welcoming space to share experiences, exchange advice and build friendships with others who truly understand the challenges of caring.
Regular peer support opportunities include:
-
Monthly Dementia Carers Café – A relaxed and sociable gathering, run in partnership with Derby Theatre, offering practical information, emotional support and shared understanding for those caring for someone with dementia.
-
Monthly Men’s Group – A friendly and informal space for male carers to connect, share stories and enjoy activities together.
-
Garden Centre Meet-Ups – Social get-togethers in a relaxed setting, combining conversation with a free drink and a bit of plant shopping!
By coming together, carers not only find understanding and encouragement but also form lasting social connections that help reduce feelings of isolation and strengthen their ability to continue in their caring role.
