Carer Wellbeing Support

Activities, groups and events

At Universal Services for Carers in Derby, we understand that unpaid caring can take a significant emotional and physical toll. That’s why we offer a variety of free wellbeing activities and events—from gentle indoor and outdoor sessions like Chair Pilates اور Crafting to guided mindfulness sessions online—designed to help carers relax, recharge
and connect with others in similar situations.

These sessions not only provide a much-needed break, but also help improve overall health and resilience, empowering carers to continue their vital role with renewed strength and support. Some activities are open for you to bring your Cared For along, creating opportunities to make shared memories while easing the strain of planning separate activities whilst other events are for Carers Only.

Regular events include:
  • Online Mindfulness 45 minute monthly session
  • Carers Craft Café – Every 2nd Thursday of the month at Dubrek Studios
  • Shared Reads – Every 3rd Tuesday of the month at Mackworth Library
  • Chair Pilates – Fortnightly at Derby Arena
  • Monthly Wellbeing Walks – Markeaton Park (April to September)
  • Virtual Indoor Cycling – Every first Tuesday and Saturday of the month at Springwood Leisure Centre
