How completing a ‘Just In Case’ Plan can help
‘Just In Case’ Planning – Your Guide to Preparing for Future Care
Being prepared matters. A ‘Just In Case’ plan helps you outline clearly what should happen if there’s an unexpected change in circumstances—for you or the person you care for.
Your plan should include:
- Who will step in to provide support
- Your preferred care arrangements
- Key medical or personal information
- Legal or financial wishes
- Where to locate important documents
It’s also important to maintain an updated support network of family, friends, neighbours, or local services who understand your situation and wishes.
Regularly review and update your plan so it reflects any changes in your health, caring role, or contact details. Having a plan in place provides peace of mind for you, and certainty for those supporting you, ensuring roles, wishes, and arrangements are clear.
