At Universal Services for Carers in Derby, we know how important it is for unpaid carers to feel informed, confident, and equipped with essential skills. That\u2019s why we offer a range of free Awareness and Information sessions<\/b>\u2014designed to help carers provide safe, effective care while boosting their own sense of empowerment and preparedness. These sessions also offer opportunities to share experiences and build knowledge alongside fellow carers.<\/div>\n

    First Aid Training<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 Learn vital life-saving skills such as CPR, choking response and managing unconsciousness. These are designed to give you the confidence to act calmly and effectively in emergencies.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    Online Carer Rights Awareness<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 Understand your entitlements and rights to ensure both you and the person you care for access the support needed.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    Silvertime Legal: Wills & Power of Attorney<\/b> \u2013 Specialist online and in person sessions offering clear, practical advice to help you plan ahead and protect the interests of those you care for.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    Requestable Resources<\/b> \u2013 Carers can call our helpline to request Moving & Assisting resource sheets with Falls Prevention Information\u2014clear, practical guides to help with safe supporting tasks like assisting with moving and handling.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    In addition to in-person and online sessions, carers can explore our\u00a0online Resource Library<\/b>\u2014a growing collection of videos, guides and downloadable tools covering a wide range of caring topics. We also run Monthly Carers Information Series<\/b>, spotlighting key themes such as financial support and specialist care advice. These are a great way to stay up to date and connect with expert speakers. Recordings of these sessions are also available on our Resource Library page.<\/div>\n
